I just finished this dvd for the first time and it is so nice! The scenery is beautiful and peaceful, and Gurmukh is lovely. She safely and gently moves the moms through postures and explains so many things about the movements. She is encouraging and the set is fun too! I love the part with free-form dance and the meditations. Even more, I love how Gurmukh encourages women to trust their bodies and the life force within them, and helps guide you to let go of any fear which may get in the way of your dreamed birth experience. She also gives great daily exercises to practice to make you more strong and ready for labor. If you are looking for a simple yet challenging routine to help you be strong for labor but also would like the spiritual aspect to be a part of your practice, this is probably the dvd for you.

I am going to recommend this to any of the yoga mommas I know! This one is definitely a must have.

This is by FAR Suzy D's most challenging DVD I've ever done (I've done them all EXCEPT for Yoga Conditioning for Women). I love power yoga and Suzy D's lighter approach to Yoga has always frustrated me somewhat. For a while, I even feared she didn't even know what downward dog is!!! Just kidding... But if you're familiar with Suze, your probably know what I mean. I would say the "Lower Body" description is a little deceptive. This video will definitely workout your lower body, but she doesn't really do anything different from other yoga dvds to specifically target the lower body. Every yoga pose (at least those in which you aren't laying down) works the lower body, so I'm not sure what is specifically lower body about this one. That said, it is still a challenging workout.

This DVD has no shortage of downward dogs and more challening moves (like half moon and warrior 3). I really wish she would do more sun salutations. This video is a strenuous, but (at least for me) the really amazing aspect of yoga is combining the static poses with the dynamic, warming sun salutations. However, even without the sun salutations, this is big step in the right direction for Suzy D.

Now, if Suzy D is reading this (which is unlikely, as by now she surely would have become irked by my referring to her as such), I'm begging you for a Suzanne Deason Power Yoga dvd!!!! I love her calming presence and imagery, and would love for her to take it to the next level (she can still make her "easier" DVDs too... but it would be nice to have a little more variety from her). I get the vibe that power yoga enthusiasts are not her target demographic, so I may be wasting my breath. Anyway, while I think Suzy could have easily taken this DVD to the next level, I think what she does offer is still challenging and enjoyable routine. GREAT JOB!

This was the 1st 10-minute solution DVD I ever bought, just because I was getting bored with the two yoga DVDs I already owned. I have to admit that, the first time I did it, I didn't like it very much because it seemed very easy and all the poses seemed very rushed. However, I have turned back to this DVD after I experienced an overuse injury in my lower back and cannot do any high-impact exercises; I am now seeing this DVD with new eyes, and I have to say that I enjoy it very much.

The good:

1) Some very nice, easy-to-do poses. I can't stand a DVD where the learning curve is too steep.
2) The 5 10-minute segments go by SO fast, before you know it you've done the entire workout.
3) The variety of the routines is very refreshing, and you get a good solid beginner's/lower intermediate workout if you do all 5 segments.
4) If I don't have time for 50 minutes, I like being able to pick and choose the segments, and design a 20- or 30-minute workout.
5) The instructor is not annoying, but encouraging. She knows what she's doing (call me crazy, but I like that in an instructor).

Needs improvement:

1) You do have to have some basic knowledge of yoga poses, because the instructor sometimes just says the name of the pose and then does it with no "preview" of the pose. Her cueing could also be much better.
2) The poses go by *very* quickly; I often felt like I was trying to catch up to her. However, I'm sure that will go away the more I do this workout.
3) It comes with a yoga strap, but I feel that it wasn't used very much or to its fullest potential.

If you want more of a power yoga workout or you want an intermediate/advanced yoga workout, this is probably not the DVD for you. However, seeing this through the eyes of someone who still wants a workout but doesn't want to aggravate an injury while it's healing, this DVD is excellent at providing a low-impact workout that still makes you feel like you did some work AND some good for your body.

Yoga For IT Professionals

When you sit more hours in front of the computer, then try some yoga exercises. Sitting for many hours will stress to the eyes, shoulders and spinal cord. Eye Exercise

I love this video almost more than actual yoga classes. The one drawback is that there is no one to check your form and that some of the moves are a bit hard at first if you are a beginner or semi beginner. Overall though, I feel great after doing this and the hour goes by in no time. Flexibility and calm are the awesome results of this video.

First, just a word to A.Vegan. If you have been performing yoga for a while, why would you choose this DVD? It does say for beginners, so it doesn't surprise me that it wasn't challenging enough for you. Maybe you should try something with "Power Yoga for Intermediate or Advanced Students" instead? That being said, this is pretty tough for the beginner. Not really in a fatigue sort of way, more the flexibility and the familiarity with the routine. At first, you are constantly looking at the video at the same time as doing the moves, and like people have said, it isn't quite in sync all the time. After a few times through, however, you can follow the voice alone and just look up now and then to double-check. I have become addicted to Yoga through this DVD and my flexibility has improved as well as my sense of balance. I think this is a worthwhile DVD to purchase, along with other DVDs that complement it.

Your Yoga Routine

In yoga, like most things, you need a healthy balance. Your yoga routine should have a variety of poses, avoid practicing the same, and neglect the rest of your body. Practice a variety of different poses will give the benefit to the whole body.

There are many poses that just a good feeling. They are easy to sink and they can tension and stress. A "Rag Doll" attitude is a good example of a feel-good pose. Hanging around in such acomfortable inversion stress triggers many physical and spiritual levels. Another example is the "feet on the wall display. These are remedial and comfortable.

Practice represent something as simple as "just sitting" (comfortable sitting cross-legged pose) can create an imbalance. Consider whether your just crossed always make the same leg before. One hip is more open than the others. Conversely, if one hip is more open than the others, it is easier to sit that way. Yoga Causes Back Pain

It is a well known fact that yoga is good for you, that the joints supple, increases muscle strength is doing and is ideal for suffering back pain. Or is it?

Many people, myself included, have tried a few of the many yoga DVDs and books, discovering in the hope for the relief of back pain, just to far from solving the problems, they intensified yoga. Why is this so? Surely something which is asserted to be not so good for me in pain? Ibegan to wonder if I did not do anything wrong, follow the instructions correctly, and somehow it was my fault. but have now discovered that yoga can, in fact, certain conditions worsen again. This was not the case, but I was not there nothing wrong, the exercises were inappropriate and should really have come with a warning.

Many well-known yoga teachers and practitioners, of course, a warning that may issue unilateral movements of the ISG stress when theyJoint. Where to ask how the tree and Warrior 3, where you have to balance on one leg are not recommended. Low set yoga also emphasize the sacroiliac joint. Pain or worsening of your back pain or pain is not new money, you should stop immediately. If yoga does not work for you, then it does not work - it's so easy. Find something else, such as Pilates or swimming. Do not you feel that you are missing, there is the perfect exercise regime out theresomewhere for you.

Do I still need yoga? The answer is no. I have my own methods of health back, and even though sometimes friends urge me to have him another, I always found going decline. I'm going caving and hiking and horseback riding too, but not the risk of injury to my back again to practice yoga.

Yoga, in my opinion, is for people without back problems. You can avoid injury, but it will not heal.
