I've done this DVD twice already and I felt amazing during and afterwards. I liked it better than Maral Hadidi's DVD which is somewhat similar but I found Christina's practice actually slightly more challenging and it is shorter (75 minutes). It starts with a 3 minute meditation and gentle stretches on the floor and moves up to a non traditional salutation including warrior 2 , reverse warrior and extended angle in a continuous flow , a little bit similar to Shiva Rea's style. One reviewer claimed this was repetitive but all sun salutations are , at least it wasn't the regular a & b salutations. The standing pose flow includes goddess pose , triangle and a challenging balance flow with dancer's pose , half moon , tree , extended hand to big toe pose and warrior 3. It continues with an advanced arm balance (Eka Pada Koundiyanasana II) , side plank , pigeon , backbends and inversions and ends with a long shavasana. The production and beach setting are great and there is 8 audiotracks to choose from - 4 music options (including no music) with full instruction and the same 4 with cuing only. Overall a great challenging yet relaxing practice.

This was the 1st 10-minute solution DVD I ever bought, just because I was getting bored with the two yoga DVDs I already owned. I have to admit that, the first time I did it, I didn't like it very much because it seemed very easy and all the poses seemed very rushed. However, I have turned back to this DVD after I experienced an overuse injury in my lower back and cannot do any high-impact exercises; I am now seeing this DVD with new eyes, and I have to say that I enjoy it very much.

The good:

1) Some very nice, easy-to-do poses. I can't stand a DVD where the learning curve is too steep.
2) The 5 10-minute segments go by SO fast, before you know it you've done the entire workout.
3) The variety of the routines is very refreshing, and you get a good solid beginner's/lower intermediate workout if you do all 5 segments.
4) If I don't have time for 50 minutes, I like being able to pick and choose the segments, and design a 20- or 30-minute workout.
5) The instructor is not annoying, but encouraging. She knows what she's doing (call me crazy, but I like that in an instructor).

Needs improvement:

1) You do have to have some basic knowledge of yoga poses, because the instructor sometimes just says the name of the pose and then does it with no "preview" of the pose. Her cueing could also be much better.
2) The poses go by *very* quickly; I often felt like I was trying to catch up to her. However, I'm sure that will go away the more I do this workout.
3) It comes with a yoga strap, but I feel that it wasn't used very much or to its fullest potential.

If you want more of a power yoga workout or you want an intermediate/advanced yoga workout, this is probably not the DVD for you. However, seeing this through the eyes of someone who still wants a workout but doesn't want to aggravate an injury while it's healing, this DVD is excellent at providing a low-impact workout that still makes you feel like you did some work AND some good for your body.

This is a very easy exercise to follow. The moves are simple, fluid and explained very well. You are even instructed/encouraged not to over do it several times during the exercise. I don't feel overwhelmed trying to maintain poses. This is excellent for beginners and anyone who is not flexible, just make sure you have the props required to achieve all of the positions. The 'props' can be anything you have on hand at home or you can purchase them. You need a yoga block (I used a book), a strap (I used a thin towel) and, of course, your yoga mat. The mat is essential because it keeps you from sliding.....something that is very dangerous when you are trying to maintain your pose.I tried on my carpet at first but found it to be very uncomfortable trying to remain steady in a pose. This workout although only 26 minutes long has basic yet progressively harder exercises and I definitely felt it working my abs by the end. Beginners shouldn't have any problems with this flowing sequence of poses and as usual Rodney's voice instruction is flawless. I think what I liked the most about ABS YOGA is that this is an Abdominal workout without crunches and I appreciated learning some different moves to help combat the muffin top.

Filmed in Death Valley National Park, the backdrop here is a beautiful desert setting. And although I recognized the ambient music from several other Yee DVD's, its pleasant enough and doesn't distract.

Beginning in a seated position the first part of this workout concentrates on breathing exercises then moves onto your hands and knees for Cat Pose and finally to your back where most of the workout is performed. With repetitions of knees to chest, head to knees and slowly lowering and raising your legs, you begin to feel the burn. Then Rodney leads us through side twists and several Half and Full Boat Poses which get progressively more difficult as does the burn. Towards the end we stand for Mountain Pose and Foreword Bend before sitting again into Staff and Cobblers Pose. The relaxation segment is short but well done and you'll come away feeling tighter and relaxed.

I believe this might be a good introduction to yoga for first timers, giving you a taste of the breathing and energy without overwhelming you with too many traditional yoga poses. And for those who do a regular yoga practice this is a great workout that you will definitely feel in your abs the next day. Namaste.

Bikram Yoga

Yoga is at least 5000 years. Hindus of the Indus valley civilization developed yoga as a practical means of uniting the individual self with Brahman, the universal self. E 'was codified about 2,000 years ago, in a system by Patanjali in his book "Yoga Sutra".

Its called Yoga) Ashtanga Yoga (yoga or eight limbs, was the authority of yoga. These eight members will be manufactured toachieve his spiritual goal. Yoga modern times will be understood as 'Hatha Yoga', the third and fourth practice of Ashtanga Yoga - Asanas and Pranayama.

Hatha Yoga, meaning sun, moon, yoga, aims to combine the assets and the transfer of energy by humans. Harmonizes the mind-body connection, and reached an equilibrium. The body is soft and strong. The mind relaxes and relieves stress. Internal systems, such as System, circulatory, nervous, digestive and endocrine system improved.

Bikram> Yoga is a series of 26 postures performed in a heated room. The temperature is kept at about 90-100 oC. It warms the body naturally, and the positions are is easy to reach. The series starts with standing postures, to turn back, leans forward and turns. Each posture is repeated twice. The full routine takes about 90 minutes.

I feel that this yoga DVD also gave me a clear mind and I felt relaxed and healed. I can recommend this to beginners and intermediates who are seeking a stress reduction program.

Having never done yoga in my life, I decided to give it a try to help reduce my stress levels. I have very little free time so I didn't want to have to commit to an hour at a time knowing I'd never do it. As a result of too much stress I was having trouble with my neck, shoulders, and back. The first week or so the poses were hard but not impossible to preform. I could really tell where the tension was in my body! I've been doing this dvd faithfully for almost three weeks and the difference is amazing. The tension is all but gone, I am much stronger in the poses, I feel much more relaxed and sleep better!

The program itself is put together nicely...soft, unobtrusive music; beautiful scenery; and the instruction is easy to follow with very clear explanations. Suzanne does use yoga blocks which I recommend...they really help in the morning workout when you are less flexible. She also uses a yoga strap and wedge. Obviously, you can't just do this workout and lose weight. As Suzanne says on the dvd, it's part of a healthy lifestyle.

Being a Christian, I hesitated to do yoga because I didn't want to be pressed upon by the belief system behind it but I don't feel that at all with this dvd. It's an excellent workout and I highly recommend it!

Yoga - The path of the four Fast Bust Your Stress

I know you are busy person, with time for a complete workout. However, when stress hits, that's when you need it most.

Let me move a 4 mini-yoga routine for you to relax and recharge your batteries - all without having to adjust a track.

Side Plank. This is the business and the arms, chest, back, hips, abdomen and legs. On his stomach with his forearm on the floor under your shoulders, breathe clockwise, rotate the left arm forward, his legs clusters, and extend your right arm.Hold for 5 breaths, then rotate to the Committee. Repeat on the left side.

Corpse Pose. This is the whole body. Here's what to do. Lay-ups, legs, arms by your sides, palms upward. Take a deep breath as you focus on relaxing one body part at a time when the legs on the head. Thoughts come and go as they recognize and let them drift. Relax in this position for at least 3 to 5 minutes.

Pose Schuster. These targets abs, back, legs. Sit down withSoles of the feet together, hands on the floor behind the hips. Inhale and lift the breast without back arched. Take 10 breaths, then relax and holding his knees to his chest. To do this, 4 times viewed.

Fundamentals of Yoga for Beginners

Yoga Mudra for the hands and fingers

Mudras are my new love. They are now part of my daily life and the mudra that I chose for this month promises to offer me the peace, strength and inner core is a better direction (yes, no more distractions for me), plus a flow of sound energy throughout the body gives me more vitality.
